The Bridge on the River Kwai IMDB 8.1/10 (1957) - During WW II, British POWs are forced to build a railway bridge across the river Kwai for the Japanese in occupied Burma. Their instinct is to sabotage the bridge, but their commander, Colonel Nicholson, sees the bridge as a morale booster. Unbeknownst to them, the allied forces are planning a commando raid to destroy it.
