Our coffee and conversations are in the Broadway Armory dining room and start at 9 a.m. Meet up with us there for lively exploration of each week’s topics.
Today’s topics are:
1). If Trump is convicted of a significant crime in one or more of his trials, should he go to jail? If so, what would be the conditions that would make such a result acceptable to the general population?
2). If racial categories are not scientifically valid but social constructs only, should the Census Bureau drop its questions on race in 2030? Or, on the contrary, should it continue to refine its questions on race/ethnicity to gather ever more granular information on the US population?
Join hosts John Williams and Tom Murphy as the group explores interesting and sometimes controversial topics. Each week’s discussion is typically accompanied by some readings you’ll receive in advance via email. Topics for the subsequent week are decided at the previous discussion.
If you are interested in participating in our discussions but are not on our distribution list, send an email to tjm2040@rcn.com and we will add you to the list.
