Chicago's Urban Wildlife

For over a decade, the Urban Wildlife Institute (UWI) at Lincoln Park Zoo has studied the wildlife that live all around us in Chicago and how species are impacted by urbanization. In this presentation, Liza Lehrer, Assistant Director of UWI, will discuss the ecology of some of the common mammal species of Chicago, and will give an overview of UWI’s research program and key findings to date. The program will include time for Q&A.

For over 10 years, Lehrer and her colleagues have studied how wildlife live in cities, beginning in Chicago, and more recently expanding across North America as leaders of the Urban Wildlife Information Network, a partnership of researchers studying urban wildlife.
