The Community Resiliency Model (CRM) provides a resiliency informed approach to trauma and toxic stress. It teaches that people are resilient, and people can learn how feelings of well-being can be cultivated and how they can reduce suffering. CRM is both trauma informed and resiliency informed care and it invites us to get to know our nervous systems and our internal sensations. Participants will learn about the model and how to incorporate resiliency skills into their lives.
Presented by Maureen Burns (she/her/ella), a Community Health Worker / Promotora de Salud and research liaison with The HAP Foundation. Maureen works in Rogers Park and surrounding communities, providing free and culturally affirming health education, and linking patients and loved ones to resources within their community.
