Movie Chat Series

Edgewater Village Chicago is holding a series of gatherings to chat about movies. Participants will view each film on their own and then join a group discussion via Zoom. 

The films for July 24 are "Night of the Hunter" and "Gloomy Sunday".

The Night of the Hunter (1955) A religious fanatic marries a gullible widow whose young children are reluctant to tell him where their real daddy hid the $10,000 he'd stolen in a robbery. Director: Charles Laughton. Stars: Robert Mitchum, Shelley Winters, Lillian Gish

Gloomy Sunday (1999) Follows three men who are in love with a most beautiful waitress: An intellectual restaurant owner, a mysterious musician and an erratic businessman; taking place during the WWII. Director: Rolf Schübel. Stars: Joachim Król, Erika Marozsán, Stefano Dionisi

Copies of these movies are available on DVD at the Edgewater Branch library for checkout with your library card or you can watch them online through a streaming service of your choice.
