Movie Chat Series

Edgewater Village Chicago is holding a series of gatherings to chat about movies. Participants will view each film on their own and then join a group discussion via Zoom.  Movies are selected through discussion and a decision of Chat participants. Join the Movie Chat and bring your recommendations!

The films for October 16 are Auntie Mame (1958) and The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1969)

Auntie Mame: When his father dies, 10-year-old Patrick Dennis goes to live with his Auntie Mame, a flamboyant socialite from the roaring 20s. Mame rescues him from stuffy, conventionalist people.

Director: Morton DaCosta

Stars: Rosalind Russell, Forrest Tucker and Coral Browne

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie: An eccentric Scottish schoolteacher's extravagantly romantic ideas about life - and love - overly impress her young pupils and bring her into conflict with her school's conservative headmistress.

Director: Ronald Neame

Stars: Maggie Smith, Gordon Jackson and Robert Stephens

Copies of these movies are available on DVD at the Edgewater Branch library for checkout with your library card or you can watch them online through a streaming service of your choice.
