Movie Chat Series

NOTE: starting on Feb. 6, 2022 ,this series will be at 7 p.m. on Sundays.

Edgewater Village Chicago is holding a series of gatherings to chat about movies. Participants will view each film on their own and then join a group discussion via Zoom.  Movies are selected through discussion and a decision of Chat participants. Join the Movie Chat and bring your recommendations! This week’s movies are State Fair and O Brother Where Art Thou.

State Fair (1933) Join the Frake family for love and fun at the fair. Take a wild ride on a roller coaster, see the judging of the pickles (both sweet and sour), and find romance at the livestock pavilion. "State Fair" was selected for preservation by the National Film Registry.

O Brother Where Art Thou (2000) This isn't “Sullivan’s Travels" it's a depression era odyssey through hard times in the deep south set to a soundtrack of great old timey music. So, tie yourself to a chair and listen to the Siren call of this modern classic.

Copies of these movies are available on DVD at the Edgewater Branch library for checkout with your library card or you can watch them online through a streaming service of your choice.
