Movie Chat Series

Edgewater Village Chicago is holding a series of gatherings to chat about movies. Participants will view each film on their own and then join a group discussion via Zoom.  Movies are selected through discussion and a decision of Chat participants. Join the Movie Chat and bring your recommendations! This week’s movies are:

Chocolat rated 7.3/10 (2000) An invisible kangaroo? Ridiculous! An obsession with chocolate? Absurd--but tasty. It may not cure all your ills, but you'll feel better. So, grab yourself a cup of hot chocolate, sit down and enjoy Juliette Binoche.

Director: Lasse Hallstrom

Stars: Juliette Binoche, Johnny Depp and Judi Dench

The Sting rated 8.3/10 (1973) Nobody likes getting stung. Well, how'd you like to fall into this nest of pros and cons? You don't have to, you can just sit back and watch Paul Newman, Robert Redford and the big sting. I bet you'll like it, "gimme $20 on #3 in the 3rd at Tanforan, put on the nose"

Director: George Roy Hill

Stars: Paul Newman, Robert Redford and Robert Shaw

Copies of these movies are available on DVD at the Edgewater Branch library for checkout with your library card or you can watch them online through a streaming service of your choice.

Registration is required. You will receive an email with the link to join the online Zoom discussion group.

This program is offered in partnership with the Edgewater Branch Library.
