Movie Chat Series

Edgewater Village Chicago is holding a series of gatherings to chat about movies. Participants will view each film on their own and then join a group discussion via Zoom.  Movies are selected through discussion and a decision of Chat participants. Join the Movie Chat and bring your recommendations! This week’s movies are:

Witness rated 7.4/10 (1985) A young Amish boy witnesses a murder in the corrupt outside world. It’s a culture-clash film of suppressed emotions with an impossible love story, while the threat of violence from the world outside is ever present.

• Director: Peter Weir

• Stars: Harrison Ford, Kelly McGillis and Lukas Haas

One, Two, Three rated 7.9/10 (1961) Culture clash at Checkpoint Charlie. Coca Cola and bikinis vs Karl Marx, all while love is in the air. Very funny Billy Wilder movie with rapid fire dialog. Just try to keep up, it's as easy as "One Two Three".

• Director: Billy Wilder

• Stars: James Cagney, Horst Buchholz, and Pamela Tiffin

Copies of these movies are available on DVD at the Edgewater Branch library for checkout with your library card or you can watch them online through a streaming service of your choice.

Registration is required. You will receive an email with the link to join the online Zoom discussion group.

This program is offered in partnership with the Edgewater Branch Library.
