Each week’s discussion is typically accompanied by some readings you’ll receive in advance via email. Topics for the subsequent week are decided at the previous discussion. This week’s topics are:

• Universal basic income (UBI): Should the government provide all citizens (and residents?) an equal financial subsidy without a means test? Might this work in lieu of current welfare programs? If not done nationally, might it work at a state or municipal level?

• Ukraine: What are probable repercussions, both in the immediate and long term, from the invasion, the resistance to it and the responses of other countries?
