The Role of Networks in Healthy Aging

We hear about networks and networking for business and for pleasure, but what might networks mean to aging in and living in community? This discussion describes the what, when, where and why of networks. We will explore ways to develop and maintain networks as we age during COVID and beyond (yes, there will be a beyond!). Opportunities to be part of a network study will be shared.

Presenter Lisa Skemp, PhD, RN is a Professor of Nursing at Loyola. As a nurse ethnographer, her public health practice, teaching and international research has focused on understanding older adult networks to then promote healthy aging in the community. She is also a partner with Edgewater Village Chicago.
