Our coffee and conversations are in the Broadway Armory dining room and start at 9 a.m. Meet up with us there for lively exploration of each week’s topics.
Moderators will facilitate the discussion as the group explores interesting and sometimes controversial topics. Each week’s discussion is typically accompanied by some readings you’ll receive in advance via email. Topics for the subsequent week are decided at the previous discussion.
Topics for November 12th are:
Review of the results of the November 5th Presidential Election
Why did the winner prevail?
What Federal policy changes might we now expect?
What might we anticipate from the supporters of the losing candidate?
Review of the results of the School Board and other local races
Has anyone (whether CTU, Mayor Johnson, Charter School proponents or others) established a position of strength in control of CPS?
Any surprises in the Illinois Congressional/General Assembly races that may portend a change in the current balance between Democrats and Republicans?
Light refreshments will be served.
If you are interested in participating in our discussions but are not on our distribution list, send an email to John Williams and we will add you to the list.
