This week is a double feature and a trifecta! The double feature is that Movie Chat participants are invited to an in-person get-together at 6pm to celebrate George Otto’s 93rd birthday. See the separate program listing for that party. The trifecta is that this week includes three movies and still will be held on Zoom. As always, participants view each film on their own and then join a group discussion via Zoom. Movies are selected through discussion and a decision of Chat participants. Scrooged rated 6.9/10 (1988) A selfish, mean spirited television executive who has alienated his staff and family, is visited by three ghosts who teach him the true meaning of Christmas.

Ida (2013) rated 7.4/10 Best Foreign Language Film 2016 Set in Poland, 1962.. Anna, an orphan brought up by nuns in the convent, is a novice. She has to see Wanda, her only living relative, before she takes her vows. They start a journey to find their family's tragic story, and to see where they belong.

The Student Prince (1954) rated 7.4/10. Heir to the throne Prince Karl is sent to the university in Heidelberg to learn how to socialize. He falls for the down-to-earth Kathie, a barmaid. The two are soul mates, but he must choose between his country and his own happiness.
