Our coffee and conversations are in the Broadway Armory dining room and start at 9 a.m. Meet up with us there for lively exploration of each week’s topics.
Moderators will facilitate the discussion as the group explores interesting and sometimes controversial topics. Each week’s discussion is typically accompanied by some readings you’ll receive in advance via email. Topics for the subsequent week are decided at the previous discussion.
This week’s topics are:
We will discuss the first presidential debate, the questions proposed and how each candidate responded to them. And we will evaluate the performance and behavior of the candidates and the impression they made.
In light of recent revelations surrounding the ethical behavior of the justices, people are calling for a code of ethics for the Supreme Court. What is the rationale for the current ethics code? Is it sufficient or is another – or more -- needed? What do we hope to see in the future?
What are the latest decisions of this Supreme Court and what do they mean for us?
Light refreshments will be served.
If you are interested in participating in our discussions but are not on our distribution list, send an email to John Williams and we will add you to the list.
