Our coffee and conversations are in the Broadway Armory dining room and start at 9 a.m. Meet up with us there for lively exploration of each week’s topics.
Moderators will facilitate the discussion as the group explores interesting and sometimes controversial topics. Each week’s discussion is typically accompanied by some readings you’ll receive in advance via email. Topics for the subsequent week are decided at the previous discussion. This week’s topics are:
Is there a “War Against Women” and a wide scale effort to restrict women’s rights, including abortion and reproductive health services, lack of prosecution of criminal violence against women, etc.? Is it a backlash against women’s progress? Where does the US stand comparatively with other democratic developed countries? Do you think it will affect women’s choices in the upcoming election?
The Heritage Foundation has organized a shadow government to formulate an agenda for the next administration. It has been described as calling for “some pretty far-right things”. We will discuss some of what it is being proposed.
Light refreshments will be served.
If you are interested in participating in our discussions but are not on our distribution list, send an email to John Williams and we will add you to the list.
