Engage in a tantalizing, interactive community experience when you activate your imagination through images and stories. Together we’ll explore various works of art: photographs, painting, and drawings, and participate in the active creation of story making as a group. Enjoy the collaboration of each other’s fascinating imagination and dip into your own experience to create a one-of-a-kind story. Free; light refreshments 6-6:30 p.m. Participants must wear masks. Presenter: Judy Holstein, drama therapist and former creative drama high school teacher and theatre director. She is the former director of Adult Day Services for CJE SeniorLife where she taught staff to integrate expressive/therapeutic arts in all aspects of daily programming. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Institute for Therapy through the Arts (ITA) and on the Board of Directors for the Hilgos Foundation, a scholarship through the School of the Art Institute to encourage art therapists to work with people with memory impairment.
This is the first in a series of interactive “Community Connections” programs to engage Edgewater Villagers, Chicago Methodist Senior Services’ (CMSS residents), their families and community members in becoming acquainted, developing new friendships and staying connected. “Community Connections” is a partnership between CMSS and Edgewater Village Chicago.
