Come party with us on October 11. Why? Four years ago, on October 11, Edgewater Village Chicago was officially launched as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our hope was that we could make a positive difference in the lives of older adults in our Far North Side neighborhoods.
We could compare Edgewater Village to sunflowers, which symbolize happiness, optimism and longevity. Why? Because we've offered many hundreds of programs, launched a website, and created an online newsletter that now has 800+ subscribers! We've offered social meetups, discussion groups, card-writing activities, and more to help keep people connected and bring joy to others.
During the pandemic, we remained optimistic about continuing our programs. We successfully migrated to online Zoom programs, instructed people on how to use the platform, and even became acquainted with people who live outside our community. It's time to celebrate!
You're invited to attend this celebration -- so we can meet you in person -- at the Broadway Armory, 5917 N. Broadway, on Tuesday, October 11, at 1 p.m. Special guest, Chicago's Commissioner of Family & Support Services Brandie Knazze, will attend. We'll have light refreshments, door prizes, and piano music by Edgewater's own Randall Fleer.
Mark your calendars and join us for the fun! Sign up if you're planning to attend; we're looking forward to seeing you.
